1 Corinthians 10:24
Epiphany is part of an effort to install sidewalks for pedestrians to walk safely along Hermitage Road. The effort is coordinated by the Hermitage Road Sidewalk Coalition, a group of our neighbors that meets occasionally in our parlor. The Sidewalk Coalition has built a relationship with a capital projects manager for the Henrico County Department of Public Works. Henrico County has selected Clark Nexsen as the consultant to assist with this project. Data collection along the corridor was scheduled to begin in July and include traffic data counts in mid-August once school is back in session. Henrico County anticipates drafting potential layouts and segment priorities this fall, and their goal is to hold a public meeting before Christmas to discuss these plans and gather neighborhood feedback. In the meantime, they will work with the Henrico County Traffic Engineering Division to determine short-term measures to encourage slower driving speeds along Hermitage Road.
From time to time, Epiphany partners with our neighbors at Holladay Elementary School to provide for children in need. In the autumn, we collect donations of school supplies for the students. In the winter, we host a coat drive, gathering warm outerwear for children of all sizes. Holladay Elementary regularly needs volunteers who speak Spanish or Arabic and adults who can commit an hour or two a week to tutor students.
